Last December, I bought a few items from e-Bay, a touch screen replacement for a Sony Ericsson P910 Phone and a screen protector for my iPod Video. The items I bought were from a merchant in Hong Kong. Luckily, the transaction was not fraudulent and the items were sent to my house while I was in Manila.
The item was shipped through an ordinary HK Courier service. The merchant did not have a tracking number to track the parcel.
After I got my PayPal and done this online shopping thing, I though it would be a good idea to give tips before you shop online.
Tip 1: Consider buying as an option, not as a mere end.
Think first before you buy then ask your self, "Do I really need to buy this item?". Consider your reasons. If it's indeed a need, then go and get yourself that item. Buy if it's for the sake of "I-want-that-item-because-its-sooo-cute", then save yourself from spending electronic bucks.
Tip 2: Look for a trusted e-commerce site.
So far, I only tried eBay because I know it's high reputation and reliability when it comes to online shopping. You can also try other shops like Amazon, Dixons and PC World. Find or ask reviews from other users who have done online shopping from your desired shop.
Tip 3: Check the merchant's reputation.
For sites like eBay, consumers are given the option to rate the reputation and reliability of the merchant where they bought the item. This ensures the consumers a guarantee of the merchant's reliability.
Tip 4: Know the transaction and payment method..
Learn if the payment and transaction method being used is secured. A lot of phishing sites are out in the internet which tricks users when doing online transactions. So far, I only get to use PayPal and my Visa Electron card and I have not yet encountered any attempts of phishing or other illegal transactions.
Tip 5: Check and compare prices.
It's not enough to know where you can buy your item. You should also learn which seller offers the best price for a certain product. I encountered this website in the internet which is very helpful in locating the best buys in the internet. Save Bucks has this price compare feature wherein you can get the different prices from the different online shops when you do a single product search. It's pretty helpful when you are in need to compare prices of your desired product. I used this as a reference in buying products online since I get to know the product's price in the market.
Tip 6: Patience.
Be patient. Usually, the delivery of your parcel takes a few weeks before it arrives. The items I bought took three weeks before I received it. Just follow the tips I have suggested above and be assured that your product will arrive. If not, you can always verify it from your merchant or seller.

On blogging and making money
This is an e-mail I sent to the Mindanao Bloggers mailing list. This is for those people who monetize their blogs. Please read.
Good day guys,
A couple of days ago, I made an entry (Jobless dilemma) with an in-line ad link. The entry was not a review of the advertiser, neither his site nor his products and services. (at some point, the entry's topic is related to the advertiser's ad).
But to my dismay, last night, when i checked the comments on that post.... I received a comment from someone. The person said "Maniniwala na sana ako kaso may sponsored links sa ibaba. Kaduda-duda na tuloy ang post nato.". WhaattT?? Ok......zipped
Let this be a reminder to us all, (especially those who monetize our blogs), making money out of our blogs is not bad. In fact, it's a good thing. But compromising our content for the sake of earning defeats the purpose of blogging. And placing an ad does not invalidate the message you are convey to your readers.
I would like to quote what Kuya Blogie said (a comment to that post): "having in-post ads doesn't invalidate the post's message. monetizing blogs is now an accepted activity"
Kind regards,
The Yagit Kid - http://www.batangyagit.com

How to open an online store.

The term e-commerce has never been new to most of us. We've been hearing this term since the day we got used to the internet. E-commerce is defined as the buying, selling and exchange of goods and services through a computer network such as the internet. Examples of popular e-commerce websites are eBay and Amazon for the international market. We also have Davao Sales and Davao Exchange here in Davao City.
But a lot of us are seeking for opportunities in the internet. We apply to a lot of programs which offers quick way to earn money. But how much effort we exert, we can't match up with the earnings these e-commerce websites get from their business. Thus, the idea of putting up our own e-commerce websites comes into our minds. But how do we start an e-commerce website?
First, an e-commerce website would generally need a shopping cart software installed. Ashop Commerce is an example of a software which gives your website the ecommerce software gurantees 99.98% uptime and back-ups on a daily basis. This ensures the continuous productivity of your online shop.
Second, do a marketing for your online store. Tell your friends and plan how you could drive people to visit your site. The more visitors you have, the more chances that you will get profit. You can turn your online presence to profit.
The success of the online store primarily depends on how you manage your shop. Like in real world, you need to do things as efficient as they could possibly be. The answer lies on what type of software you use for your shop. A little investment might turn up later as a big money maker.

I'll take making money seriously
I badly need money. Not for my daily needs, but for the coming months I guess. I was contemplating on how I will survive my first 6-months away from home study this coming April. I'm aware that being away from home brings a lot of financial struggles. It's better to expect something like that would happen to me while I'm having my review.
For a start, I registered to a few money earning communities in the web. First, I registered for the Dollar Pays. Dollar Pays pay you to sign up for programs, fill out survey forms and avail advertiser offers. I'm not earning from Dollar pay yet so I can't assure a good income from this program.
Another program I applied was Bux.to. It's an advertising company. They pay their users to view the websites of the advertisers for 30s. The user earns $0.01 for every 30s view of a site. It's not bad especially if you are a frequent internet surfer.
I also activated or rather checked my TLA account. My account was approved few months ago but I never used it. This time, I'll take making money seriously. I'm not receiving any links from TLA yet but I'm still waiting.
My BTP was scheduled for another pay tomorrow. So this would be my first pay after I decided to take this matter seriously. I also managed to register for a Paypal account. So if you are interested in sending money, you may do so. Just leave me a message here and I'll give you my e-mail address for my paypal account. *wink* *wink*
*** Update: I didn't notice my title. Lol. wrong wrong wrong. (I'll taking take making money seriously)

Teens can make money too
A lot of people are now engaged in monetizing their blogs. Who would not bite the deal? You are earning while doing your hobby.
A couple of months ago, I enrolled in this pay per post program. They pay is not that much but it's decent though. The advertiser sends us link assignments once or twice a month. So far, BatangYagit.com has already received its second link assignment since the time this blog was enrolled in that program.
The difficult part of sponsored posts is the idea that the author should strictly follow the anchor texts of the links assigned to be posted, regardless if it's grammatically right or not. I have encountered several instances wherein there is a strong urge in me to change the anchor text because it does not sound right. But if I change the text, I won't get paid for that.
Another difficulty which I encountered is the relevance of the anchor texts to the niche of my blog. Some of you might have noticed in my previous posts on how I mentioned plastic surgeries, cosmetic surgeries and rhinoplasty in Los Angeles CA. The posts are somewhat irrelevant to the anchor texts but it takes talent for someone to integrate that anchor texts in the post.
This is just one way on how to monetize your blogs. There are a lot of sites out there which offer advice, techniques and guides on how to make money online. My friend Kirby from Cagayan de Oro even made a specialized blog on how teens make money. His goal is to earn a million (pesos) through his blog. You can check his blog for some guides.
There is an infinite number of ways on how a teen like Batang Yagit can earn money through his blog. It's a matter of perseverance, patience and hardwork. Pro's are already earning thousands of bucks from blogging. I can also do the same. Unlike in the non-virtual world wherein there's a distinction of social class which might push you up or pull you down in the "Food Chain". The virtual world (internet) is a free world. A batang yagit today might become the most successful online money maker someday.
Asides: Please do check Richard's new home in the internet. He's now part of the Batang Kalye list. Check his Pulse Circle blog at http://pc.batangyagit.com

My Technorati rank, blog worth and adsense income went up in 5 days
My Technorati Authority Points went up from 15 to 60. My Blog Traffic was doubled. My blog worth increased 10 times. And most of all, my adsense income became consistently high.
Just a couple of days ago, I started this Viral Craze which hit the blog community. This so called viral tags aims to exponentially increase your Technorati Rank, Google Page Rank, and blog traffic. The system works like a chain post where you have to tag several people in your post. In return, the tagged person will create a link back to the person who tagged him. In this way, the tagged users will continue the web chain indefinitely. Thus, increasing the number of blogs linked to your blog which in return may increase your popularity and statistics.
In five days, I achieved everything I have mentioned above. If I have done this the normal way, it would take me a couple of months before I could achieve this point. I am now enjoying the benefits I got from this craze.
