Mga hiling ni Batang Yagit ngayong pasko

Hindi ko namalayan, magpapasko na pala. Naging abala ako sa iba't ibang bagay at hindi ko na namalayang ika-24 na pala ng Disyembre. Ilang oras na lang ang aantayin ko at kakain na naman ako sa kaunting salu-salo ng aming pamilya.

Gaya ng ibang batang yagit sa mga kalye, may inihanda rin akong wish-list para ngayong pasko. Inaantay ko ang butihing Santa na tutupad sa mga kahilingan kong ito.

Anong pinagkakaabalahan ni Batang Yagit?

Mula noong umakyat kami ng mountains, wala na akong nagawang post. Medyo nagiging busy si Batang Yagit sa kanyang online at offline life. Anu-ano nga ba ang mga pinagkakaabalahan ni Batang Yagit nitong mga nakaraang araw?

Debut ni Nemia
Ito na ata ang pinaka-effort na debut na dinaluhan ko. Maraming preparations na ginawa, hindi lang ni Nemia, pati rin nga mga dumalo. Masaya kasi si Nemia, as of the latest, ang natatanging Kalasag sa batch namin na nag-debut.

Medyo cramming ang nangyari. Pagkatapos nung pag-akyat namin sa kabundukan ng Calinan, agad-agad kaming umuwi para magbihis dahil late na late na late na kami sa debut.

Buti naman at hindi agaw-pansin ang pagdating namin. In general, masaya ang debut.

Migration ng PRC Board Exam Results
Dahil medyo hindi na kinaya ng server namin ang load ng website, napagdesisyunan naming ilipat na ito sa bagong server. Kumuha na si Kuya Blogie ng sarili niyang VPS account para dun na ihost ang PRCBER at ang iba pa niyang mga website. Medyo nagkakaroon pa ng kaunting problema ang website pero ginagawa namin ang aming makakaya para ayusin ang mga settings ng VPS.

Civil Engineer Licensure Examination Results - November 2007
Medyo matagal ko na ring inabangan ang paglabas ng results ng board exam ng Civil Engineering. Umaga't gabi, tinitingnan namin ang mga newspaper, RSS feeds at google search alerts para sa mga lalabas na results pero wala kaming nakukuha. Wala rin kaming balitang nakukuha galing PRC. Masamang-masama ang loob ng mga kumuha ng exam dahil sa naging desisyon ng PRC na pag-invalidate ng November 2007 Exam para sa Civil Engineers.

Studio pictorial for Kalasag 2008
Eto ang huling part ng Kalasag Photoshoot Trilogy. Nung Friday, pumunta kami ng studio para sa aming yearbook staff pictorial. Gusto ko yung pictorial this year. Komportable kami sa pictorial kasi kilala namin ang kumukuha ng pictures. Hindi rin kami tinitipid ni Kuya sa mga shots. Hindi kagaya nung pictorials namin last year, limited kami sa tig-tatlong shots bawat set. Ngayon, kahit ilang shots ang gusto mo, pwede. Ikaw na lang siguro ang aayaw. Mahirap ring mag-isip ng magandang pose noh.

Ang Paboritong Pantalon ni Batang Yagit

Ito ang paborito kong pantalon. Kung naaalala ko ng tama, binili ko ang pantalong ito mga tatlo o apat na taon na ang nakakalipas. Size 31 ang waistline at medyo loose ang fit. May rusty at faded design yung harap.

Paborito kong gamitin ang maong na 'to. Mga isa o dalawang beses kong ginagamit ito sa isang linggo. Pero nung mga nakaraang buwan, medyo hindi ko na nagagamit kasi nagkaroon ng punit sa bandang tuhod ng kaliwang paa.

Nasira 'to nung summer nang mag-practicum ako sa Coca-cola. Hindi ko maalala kung pano pero sobrang gamit na gamit ang pantalong ito sa trabaho. Marahil kaya ito nasira.

Kahit na may punit na ito, sinusuot ko pa rin siya. Hindi nga lang sa eskwela kasi bawal magsuot ng pantalong may punit.

Talaga namang nagmumukha akong Batang Yagit tuwing suot ko ang pantalong ito. Pero pag may nagtatanong, sinasabi ko na lang na 'style' yan. Hehehe. Palusot ano?

Bisi-bisihan ang Batang Yagit

Maraming bagay-bagay sa blogosphere ang nakakaligtaan ko at hindi ko napagtutuunan ng pansin. Bisi ako, oo, bisi ako. Kahit na sem break na eh marami pa rin akong ginagawa.

Una, kailangan kong tapusing ang aking scholarship at enrollment requirements para next semester. May isang subject ako na walang grade dahil wala akong ipinakitang exam permit sa aming teacher. Hindi ko naipasa ang aking exam permit sa subject na ito dahil nagiging makakalimutin na ako. Ito ang dahilan kung bakit hanggang ngayon eh nagfofollow-up pa rin ako. Anak ng inahin, nasa Manila si Sir at bukas na kailangan ang grade. Tinext ko na siya pero sabi niya icheck ko na lang daw muna sa Eng'g kung may grade na dun kasi may iniwan siyang kopya. Buti naman.

Pangalawa, kailangan ko ring tapusin ang iilang mga gawain sa kalasag. Malapit ko na itong matapos. Malapit na rin a deadline. Hahaha.. Bukas na nga pala ang deadline at hindi ko ito namalayan. Gagawin ko na lang siguro 'to bukas.

Pangatlo, magiging busy si Batang Yagit simula bukas ng gabi para sa Mindanao Bloggers Summit 1 sa NCCC Mall. Sikat ang summit na ito dahil pupunta si Miss Google Earth Philippines Aileen Apolo at ang iba niyang kakosang blogger sa Philippine Blogosphere. At dahil volunteer ako sa sikat summit na 'to, sikat din ako. (joke lang).

Pang-apat. Kung naaalala ninyo sa aking previous post na Blogs to See, may nilagay akong PRC Board Exam Results doon. Dahil malaki ang traffic na nakukuha ko mula sa mga post ko tungkol sa Exam Results lalong-lalo na ang LET August 2007 Exam Results, mas minabuti kong seryosohin ang paghahatid ng resulta sa sambayanang Pilipino. Excited na ata ang mga tao na malaman kung sino ang TOP 10 Performing Schools sa larangan ng pagtuturo. At dahil kabado ang lahat, halos araw-araw ay tinitingnan nila at hinahanap ang kasulukan-sulukang sulok ng internet. Hehehehe.

Pag-lima at panghuli. Aalis na ako ngayong Linggo. Kung saan? walang nakakaalam kundi ako lamang. Hehehehe.. Sekreto na yun para may surprise ako sa aking pagbabalik.

Cousin Matt's Christening this Sunday

My 9-month old cousin Matthew is going to be Baptized this Sunday. It will be at St. Francis of Assisi in Ma-a, Davao City. His older sister Krisha was also baptized in St. Francis.

Months before, my Tita was asking me if I could be Matt's Godfather. I declined her offer. If that'd be the case, I'll be obliged to buy three sets of gifts. One for Matt and two for her two older sisters. It would be unfair if I'd only give gifts to Matt alone. So to make things fair, for me and for my cousins, I declined my Tita's offer. Hahahaha... I'm just trying to escape the responsibilities she's trying to push on me.

Matt, at nine months, already have his two front teeth. He can slowly walk now. We're wondering what other talents he has. He might be the next Mayor of Davao City or maybe another good political figure like George Lindemann. Who knows?

Puyatan na naman

My puyatan buddies. My super loyal Naomi and a cup of coffee.

Isang gabing puyatan na naman ito. It's 12:50 a.m. now and I'm still awake. My tired body must work beyond its capacity. Hahahaha.

I had a very tiring day. I woke up from the voice of my little cousin early this morning. I only had a few hours sleep and after much efforts, my body forgot the urge to get more sleep. It was the reason why I left home late this afternoon. I went to school to work on our report tomorrow and to work on Kalasag's campaign for this week. Multi-tasking na ito. Thanks to my groupmates for giving consideration in understanding my semi-absence in working for our report.

After school, I went to the hospital to visit my cousin who was admitted yesterday for a swelling gums. She had a bad tooth which made a complication and resulted to the swelling of her gums. I did not stay long in the hospital coz I was forced to leave my laptop and the rest of my tech stuff at the guard's desks and I have to get my stuff before 9pm. I didn't know they would not allow it inside the hospital even if I am not going to use it.

I was so hungry that I decided after leaving the hospital to dine at Ilustre. I had a lechon paksiw which was quite spicy yet nice. The price was also reasonable.

After eating my meal, I went to the gym only to find out that they close at 9pm every Sundays. I did a few minute warm-up on the thread mill and did arm curls and arm extensions. I didn't finish my program. Babawi na lang ako bukas kasi magsasara na ang gym.

So these are the things which kept me busy the whole day. What about tonight? I downloaded few episodes of the Korean drama 'Coffee Prince' which was recommended to me by Andi. The series was really funny. I'm still on the 3rd episode and I'm still trying to complete the series.

Another thing is my thesis. I need to finish the 4th and 5th chapters of our research. I still got no copy of the survey results that I asked from my groupmate. Another is the Smart Pala-ECE-pan review for we have to study concepts about GSM, GPRS, CDMA, etc. I'm not interested in this competition but I have no choice but to comply since this wil be considered as one quiz for us.

I got nominated sa Pinoy Evil Blog Awards ni Kuya Paolo. Pag-gising ko this morning, nakita ko ang Batang Yagit sa Final List of Nominees for Pinoy Evil Blog Awards. Hahahaha.. Hindi ko alam kung maiinis ako o matutuwa. Epektibo ata ang ginawang campaign ni Jehzeel para i-nominate ako ng mga tao. Napagtripan lang po ako ng Usual Suspects kaya po ako napasok. T__T

Kung sa bagay, cool naman ang may award (kahit boy bastos award, cool pa rin yan). Kaya vote niyo po ako kung sakaling may voting na. Hahahaha.

Batang Yagit ranks 1 on class tardiness

Yeah, maybe not totally but I still consider it.

I missed my 8 o'clock quiz, the only quiz we have in the mid terms. Yes, I did. It was so stupid for me to forget that our teacher scheduled a special class today. It was so stupid that I did not check my calendar. It was so stupid that I forgot to set the alarm last night. Oh well, I can't do anything about that. The consequence was laid upon me this morning.

If not for Chai, I would have slept longer. I read an SMS from Chai around 9.30 a.m. That's 1.5 hours after thae quiz started and 30 minutes before it would end. It was then panic hit me. I had to cram my morning activities so I could get to school before 10am. When I arrived, I decided to ask our teacher if I could enter his 10a.m. CoE (Computer Engineering) class. I pleaded before he allowed me.

There I was, sitting at the back-most part of the computer laboratory. I was so careless in answering the first part of the test. Since it was a 'no erasure' exam, I did not have the chance to change my wrong answers. The only nice thing which happened this morning was that I was able to finish the hands-on programming task for the PIC Microcontroller. I was able to load the program to my chip on time. Most of the CoE people where not able to cause our teacher switched off the main power. I think there were only two who got the hands-on right. I'm so glad I was one of the two. (No one from the 8am class got the problem right or if they did, they did not make it on time)

So that's what happened this morning and here I am blogging late at night. I have a Kalasag activity tomorrow at 8a.m. (again???). Wake me up if you get the chance. Hehehehe.

The week it was

As you may have noticed, I didn't get to post much this week. I have been busy with some things here. Thank God I still find time to make this post despite that I have to study for my quiz this morning. Mind you guys, it's a really really long quiz. Three weeks of my classmates' reports packed in a single quiz. That's quite long, isn't it.

So what was keeping me busy this week? Hmmm... a lot of things.

• Thesis Papers. Yeah, I am graduating this March (hopeful). As for graduating students, we are required to make our thesis paper. For us engineering students, we call it Project Study. We have to come up with a prototype system that we could use to help our community. Since we are joining the 4th Smart SWEEP this year, we are obliged to make our project study relevant to this year's theme which is Going Wireless for Disaster Preparedness. We already have decided what project to make. The only problem we had was the submission of the first three chapters of the thesis paper. It's quite difficult cause we have to submit it on Tuesday and we have started doing it the day before. (We were a day late, we submitted it on the Wednesday)
  
  
• Malaysian Friends. Seven Malaysian friends are here in Davao to do a mission for the church (Hope of God). They are here to introduce their Church to the Uni (that's how the truncate the word University) students since they see the potential from these kids. Anyway, I have been going out with them for a couple of nights now. It was fun. I enjoyed their company a lot.
  
  
• Microcontroller Project. This one set me on a bad mood. The project was supposed to be submitted on the morning of Thursday. Until Wednesday, nobody took the initiative to make the project. So I decided to do it on the afternoon of Wednesday. I was at the Kalasag Office the whole afternoon, squeezing my brain out while I work on the program. I am not even sure if the given conditions (from our teacher) that I know were right. Since almost everyone were aware that I was working on the project, someone from our class asked for the HEX File. His statement really set my mood really bad. He could have asked for the source code if he wanted to copy. At least in that way, he has the chance of learning the code I made. Well, he did not. If that's what he wants then fine. So I decided not to share it to the class (who did not do the program), except of course to my group mates. Again, everything did not end there. One of my group mates, a trusted friend, spilled out the information that we already finished the code. And me on the other hand, not knowing what my friend told the class, said that we have not done anything yet and I am still working on it. (Denial to the MAX). I've been like this for the whole time not until that trusted friend admitted that he told the class about our code. WTF! So what's up now? Am I being presented as the antagonist of the show? ... Thursday morning, I woke up late from the stress the previous night had brought me. I was shocked when I entered the room, only to find out that my classmates were around that trusted friend's workstation cramming their way in getting a copy of the code. Ok. No need to explain. I see what's happening. I don't need to freak out. I don't need to make any wrong moves.

Hmmm...what else kept me busy for the time I was not online? Aha, I've been watching Dragon Zakura for the past week. It's a Jap Series about a lawyer who became a teacher. I guess it's similar to Gokusen. :D

Lesson learned

Isang leksyon ang natutunan ko ngayong gabi. Huwag matutulog habang ginugupitan.

Papauwi na sana ako ng mapadaan ako sa pinapagupitan ko ng buhok. Hindi ito kalayuan sa school namin. At dahil medyo magulo ang buhok ko at mahirap ring ayusin dahil medyo humaba na ito ng konti, naisipan ko na lang na magpagupit. Bago na ang mga staff ng pinapagupitan ko. Hindi ko na nakita yung mga taong dating gumugupit sa buhok ko (o dahil siguro late na akong pumasok).

Dahil medyo pagod sa buong araw na klase, hindi ko naiwasang makatulog habang ginugupitan. Isa sa mga weakness ko (in terms of tulog) ay yung buhok ko. Madali akong nakakatulog kapag may humahawak o may humihimas sa buhok ko. O kahit anong gawin mo sa buhok ko hangga't 'di ako nasasaktan, makakatulog ako niyan. Aircon ang lugar, may palabas na news sa TV, pagod sa klase at may gumagalaw sa ulo ko...sinong hindi makakatulog diba?

Kung hindi nga naman mamalasin, sumobra ang gupit mo kuya. Mas maikli yung buhok sa inaasahan ko. Hmp. Nagulat na lang ako nang magising ako at tapos na. Ayoko ng gupit ko. Pakiramdam ko, para akong batang naubusan ng gel. Ayoko rin namang mag-gel kasi kinakain nito ang oras ko at ayoko ring may malagkit na nakalagay sa buhok ko. Ayoko rin ng hindi nagagalaw ang buhok ko kasi may habit akong mag-brush ng buhok gamit ang kanang kamay kapag wala akong ginagawa kaya hindi uubra ang gel sa akin.

Kaya sa susunod na magpapagupit kayo, wag kayong pumunta ng late para hindi kayo antukin sa pagod. At 'wag na 'wag matutulog habang ginugupitan kung ayaw n'yong mapagtripan ni kuyang manggugupit.

Kay Ate Coisey na siyang unang bumati sa akin. Tinext niya ako habang ako ay nasa ere at sumasakay sa Flying Fiesta sa Enchanted Kingdom. Sa mga Kalasagers na nagbigay ng surprise. (hindi gaanong surprise kasi nakita ko si ate ina na may dalang cake). Sa mga kaibigan sa kolehiyo at mga kaklase ko noong high school na hindi nakalimot (at addict sa friendster dahil nakita nila sa friendster ang birthday ko) sa araw ng aking kaarawan. Sa mga bumati sa friendster at multiply, maraming salamat po. Sa mga bloggers na dumaan sa aking blog at bumati sa akin, maraming salamat sa inyo.

1. I'm acrophobic. I have a huge fear of heights. I missed the Space Shuttle in Enchanted Kingdom several times. Everytime my friends ask and invite me, I usually decline (and find a lame excuse that would buy them).
   
   
2. I fancy dark chocolates. I love the bitter taste of the chocolate. I feel like dark chocolates are more 'genuine' compared to ordinary chocs.
   
   
3. I have a weird breathing disorder. I dunno if it's bad or if there's something wrong with it but it's involuntary. My friends noticed that whenever I'm silent, I hold my breathe (which I don't notice) for a second before releasing it.
   
   
4. I don't play basketball. I got discouraged on my basketball skills when I was a kid. My playmates are all better than me in this game. So I stopped playing basketball.
   
   
5. I'm tactless. I say things before thinking.
   
   
6. I hate (ugly) mediocre teachers. I think brains should compensate the looks. Looks is also important to drive the students attention. Hahahaha (silly me)

Project PIC Loader, now WORKING!

At long last, my PIC Loader is now working. I went to school this afternoon to continue working on my unfinished project. I am still expecting that the first circuit I worked on would go to junk. I started working on my second circuit (a new one) but I stopped when I realized that several solpads were not drilled. Since I don't own a hand drill and nobody in the laboratory had the initiative to bring one, it would be a waste of time to stop working. The only option I have is to continue working on the first circuit I made. I fixed some lines which was disconnected due to my careless handling. After placing all the lines in place, I went inside the stock room to check if it works.

Whoala! It works!

Yes! It does. I don't get that stupid "Verification failed at address 0x0000h" error anymore.

I'm working on my PIC Loader now. It's a device used to load programs (or to program) into the Microchip PIC16F84A Microcontroller. The circuit is simple but troubleshooting it is ...(i dunno). I always get this "Program Verification Failed at address 0x0000h". T____T. Most of us actually get this error. Anyway, the deadliest deadline is on Tuesday. I can still work on it on Saturday and Monday. I was hoping I could work on it today but I don't have the 'equipments' needed.
