Pinoy Torch bearer ranks 3

Yesterday, I asked Jehzeel to do a last minute campaign in gathering votes for Marcos Antonio Torres who's vying for the privilege of carrying the Olympics torch towards the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China. The deadline for voting is on Sunday, October 14.

When I checked the voting page this evening, I was shocked that the votes reached 8,100. As of the latest count, Marcos rank 3 among the hundreds who made their attempts. We are just a few thousands away from the American expat who ranks first. I have high hopes that we can make it to the top.

Do your part now. It's not yet too late. Vote our fellow FILIPINO.

Aside from the number of votes garnered, the selection committee will also (and I think more importantly) consider the candidates' "ëxperiences and qualifications" http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/olympics/torch_page.html

Surely FlorCruz, CNN's Beijing Bureau Chief, is worthy of being a torchbearer of Filipino pride.

Let's help place FlorCruz in the top 100 as well.
