The Top 100 Mindanao Blogs

Several bloggers in Manila have published their own versions of the top blogs in the Philippines. Most of them are using blog juice as a basis for ranking the blogs. While talking over coffee with Ate Ria (riajose.com) and Kuya Blogie (robilloblog.com), we came up with the idea of making a list for Mindanao bloggers. Since we have a reliable source of registered blogs in Mindanao, we thought of using it as reference in determining whose blogs are qualified for the list.

Yesterday, I started working on the idea on how to rank the blogs.

  1. Use Blog Juice - the idea seems to be good since TLA has this application which can calculate the blog's blog juice. The bottom line, you have to input each blog url and set its category in order to get its blog juice.

  2. Use Ratified Rank - Ratified.org uses PR, Technorati and Feedburner data to rank the top 100 blogs in the Philippines. Ratified.org is updated everyday and keeps a fresh record of the blog's statistics. The catch, not all mindanao blogs use ratified. Second, most of the blogs listed on the top100 blogs are from Luzon. Lastly, Kuya Andrew (the owner of ratified.org) is in Bohol for his family reunion.

  3. Use a new ranking system - This is the final option left for me, to create a new ranking system for the top 100 blogs. The idea seems to be difficult at first but I was able to plan my algorithm. I can utilize technorati and feedburner APIs to get the blogs popularity (rank and subscribers). I created an application which runs through the list from Mindanao Bloggers Directory and sends out queries to technorati and feedburner. The formula I used is this: 40% for feedburner, 55% for technorati unique blog links, 5% for total technorati links.
The list is available at Mindanao Bloggers. Congratulations to those who made it in the top 100.

I'm planning on doing a resume service for next year. It seems like a good project.

  • Masaya ang charity work.

  • The older you get, the slimmer the chances of getting gifts. Having your family around is more than enough.

Kung hindi mo feel ang cold image ng pasko, then go for a summer theme. Yun ang ginawa namin. Dalawang araw akong nasa tubig dagat. Yung una, nag-island hopping in Samal kami. Introduction lang. Masakit pala sa tainga. Mas masakit kaysa sa pressure sa eroplano. Pero masaya naman. First time.

  1. HP Pavillion DV2614TX

Feature-packed ang laptop na to. Maganda at mabilis. Kaso may kamahalan.

  2. Apple Earbuds

Oo, mahal nga 'to. Nasa P1700 ang isang pares nito. huhuhuhu

  3. Sony Ericcson P1i

  5. Paypal Credits

Christmas Gift Ideas

A lot of people might be doing their last minute Christmas shoppings these days. Christmas is getting near, yet, I can't still find a good item to give to my cousins.

For an older cousin like me, I need to find gifts which my little cousins would definitely like. Thus, the idea of having a personalized baby girl gifts came up. After hours of searching the internet for a good idea, I found this very nice site of a company which offers custom designed pillows and blankets.

Vission Bedding can print photos and other digital designs into your pillows and blankets. They use the latest technology in large scale printing for fabric. The resulting product sharp and vivid colored.

The customer can choose any design he/she desires. It can be printed on pillow cases, bed spreads, duvents, blankets, throws, pillow shams and dog pillows.

I can now have my cousin's favorite cartoon character printed on her bed sheet. Isn't it a nice Christmas gift idea?

Charice Pempengco at The Ellen Degeneres Show

A pinay kid was invited to guest in The Ellen Degeneres Show. Charice Pempengco, 15 year old kid from the Philippines, started her international career when a Swedish recording company saw her videos on You Tube. She also performed in South Korea where she "wowed" the Korean audience.

Yesterday, Charice made her first appearance in North America at The Ellen Degeneres Show where she also surprised the host and the audience. Here's a clip I found on You Tube.

Now I have something to look forward to this week, aside from the exams we're going to have.

DigitalPuto: A new Batang Yagit blog

I bought two domains this week. Last Thursday, out of boredom, I bought a domain for Awitenista. It was a great buy since I was able to get it at a lower price. Thanks to that magic coupon Kuya Blogie gave me to get discounts in buying domains from Go Daddy.

Just this afternoon, I launched another website. I call it Digital Puto. It's a photo blog which I share with other amateur Davao Digital Photography practitioners like me. As of now, there are four of us who contribute for the said blog.

My Music

Last week, Ate Aileen tagged me for the Naked Meme: What's on Your iPod? of Kuya Jayvee (A Bugged Life)

The meme goes this way

Take a screen shot of either your Top 25 Most Played / 25 Recently Played / Top Rated songs on your music device.

2. Post them on your blog and explain yourself.

3. Copy these instructions and tag 6 audiophiles to do the same thing.

So here is my response to that meme.

Now, to explain my self...

Most of the songs on top of the list are upbeat songs. I used to play these songs when I'm having workouts.

Jack Johnson - I like most of his music.
Jed Madela - OMP na pampatulog
The Fray - My favorite song's How To Save A Life did not make it on the list T__T

So to end this meme, I'm tagging Richard, Conrad, Mark, Aethen, Ate Hunee, and Kim

Batang Yagit gets free meal at Lachi's

Since the kid joined the Usual Suspects, he started to enjoy the perks that come along with his affiliation.

It was lucky enough that someone saw Ate Ria's wish list in the internet and granted one of her desires, a free meal at Lachi's. (more of the story on how Ate Ria got us the free meal at Lachi's here.)

It was Ate Ria who invited me to join Kuya Drew, Kuya Blogie and her for the free dinner she received at Lachi's last Tuesday. We went there at around 6:30 p.m. Like many other good restaurants in Davao City, it is expected that the place would be full during peak hours. We waited for a while before the we got ourselves a table.

The food was worth the wait. No wonder why a lot of people go to this place. The restaurant is located at Marfori Heights. Even if it's far from the metro,a lot of people still go there on purpose to have a taste of the best food in town.

Here are some photos (courtesy of Kuya Andrew) of our TUS Food trip.

I ordered the Stuffed Chicken with Pineapple Sauce and I love it. The sweet and sour taste of pineapple dances with the salty mixture of flavors of chicken, ham and cheese. I also love the desserts.

OMG, I just realized, i'm not good in describing food at all. Hmm... All I can say is, Lachi's is now on top of my Fave list.

Check out these great articles made by the other "food monsters",

How to get there?

Taxi: Just tell the taxi driver you are heading for Marfori Heights, at the old AMA School Building.

Tricycle: From Bangkerohan or F. Torres, take the trike going to Marfori or San Rafael Village. Tell the driver to drop you at the old AMA School Building.

Private Vehicle: From the Circumferential Road, turn right at Ruby Street to the direction of San Rafael Village. It's along the street before the curb to San Rafael.

Lachi's is located at
Ruby Street, Marfori Heights Subdivision, Davao City.

Night outs with Miss Google Earth Philippines

We've been hanging out with Ate Aileen Apolo, Google Country Consultant, for the past two nights. Last night, after her talk at MSITE in NCCC Mall, we went to Fwendz Diner for Kuya Tope's IT Party. Kuya Migs, Kuya Blogie, Kuya Rodney and Kuya Jun, were among those who went with us during the night. We were also able to meet Ted Padova, an Adobe Acrobat specialist and writer, at Fwendz.

Though there were only few IT Professionals present at the venue, a lot of students from UIC and Ateneo responded Kuya Tupe's invitation. One of the highlights of the IT party was the selection of a shirt design for Silicon Gulf.

A blogger girl approached Ate Aileen and asked to take a picture with her. Sikat. Ate Aileen and Kuya Migs also made a little video on the Quesadilla Ate Aileen was eating.

After the food and talks at Fwendz diner, we went to Pops Resto Bar for the Nokia Xpress Music product launch for Nokia 5310 (I might right a review of nokia 5310 at tech-o-rati). The music and the DJ were cool. We took a few photos but never really enjoyed the party (maybe because at this time, we were already sleepy). The drinks were free. But since it's a party sponsored by Nokia, the visit was worth it.

To neutralize some of the alcohol we had, we went to Basti's Brew to have some coffee. We didn't stay long. We exchanged some photos before we left for home.

Second Night

Tonight, after I had my meeting at Cups and Lowercase, I tried to catch Kuya Blogie, Kuya Migs and Ate Aileen who were already at Studio Onnie in Torres. The night was fun. Kuya Blogie insisted that all of us should sing. I had a duet with Ate Aileen. Kuya Blogie sang his Sana'y Wala ng Wakas and Kuya Migs with his I'll Be. Kuya Andrew did not sing (KJ?).

Right after SO, we went to see the Statue of David. We only took some pictures, stayed for a while and eventually left.

Then we went to the City Hall to see the Christmas decorations and lights. One thing I noticed about Ate Aileen is her addiction with lamps. Even though how tipsy she was, she tried to capture a shot from her digital camera of the lamps in the places we've been. She seems good in what she's doing (lamp photography).

One of the lamp pictures Ate Aileen took.

The ride

I was walking my way to the high way when a white vehicle passed my way. The vehicle slowed its speed to match my pace. The driver, in the mid 40's I guess, offered me a ride. For no particular reason, I obliged. I immediately jumped at the back of his truck. (it's a white multi-cab.) It would be troublesome if I'd sit at the passenger seat since I assumed that I would take off at the highway. Yet, the driver made some gestures asking me to sit at the passenger seat.

The driver might be one from our neighborhood. I only know a few because I seldom stay at home and whenever I am at home, I rarely go out. The driver's identity is unknown to me.

I seated myself comfortably on the passenger's seat. The usual questions were thrown to me and I deliberately answered them. He asked what school I go to (or which school I am heading for). He said that he'd drop me at NCCC Mall cause his way on the opposite side of the city.

He also asked for my course. That was when we started to talk about the profession on which I am trying to pursue. We talked a lot. We even talked some lessons in life. He shared some of his insights and made some advise, the usual stuff a father tells is son. But traffic jammed us at NCCC. I didn't notice time. It's time for me to leave his vehicle. I said my thanks before he left for the other side of the road.

I went off the truck realizing something. I may not have my biological father to give me lessons a father should teach his son, but God has his own ways of making me learn. I don't need my father, God will always find a way.

Kids have little achievements too

My PRC Board Exam Results site has now reached its 3000 subscriber mark, not to mention the 2400+ subscribers for the SMS subscriptions. Of course, this won't be possible without the help of my two partners, Kuya Blogie and Jehz.

The PRC Board Exam Results is now on its second month. Since its first launch, the site has been featured in several blogs in the world wide web. Just recently, our site was featured in Mindanao Bloggers.

Within this 2 month period, our site received more than one thousand reactions and comments from our users and from other blog owners in the internet. We have also served to more than 100,000 young professionals by bringing the latest and reliable list of successful examinees in the different professional fields.

What makes the PRC Board Exam Results site different from any other blogs which offer this kind of public service is our capacity to deliver information through SMS for FREE. The 2400+ subscribers would be nothing if our services are not reliable.

As of the moment, we are waiting for another few hundred thousand professionals who recenltly taken the Nursing Licensure Examination for December 2007.

In general, masaya ang debut.

Civil Engineer Licensure Examination Results - November 2007

Studio pictorial for Kalasag 2008
Gusto ko yung pictorial this year. Hindi kagaya nung pictorials namin last year, limited kami sa tig-tatlong shots bawat set. Ngayon, kahit ilang shots ang gusto mo, pwede. Ikaw na lang siguro ang aayaw. Mahirap ring mag-isip ng magandang pose noh.

How to open an online store.

The term e-commerce has never been new to most of us. We've been hearing this term since the day we got used to the internet. E-commerce is defined as the buying, selling and exchange of goods and services through a computer network such as the internet. Examples of popular e-commerce websites are eBay and Amazon for the international market. We also have Davao Sales and Davao Exchange here in Davao City.

But a lot of us are seeking for opportunities in the internet. We apply to a lot of programs which offers quick way to earn money. But how much effort we exert, we can't match up with the earnings these e-commerce websites get from their business. Thus, the idea of putting up our own e-commerce websites comes into our minds. But how do we start an e-commerce website?

First, an e-commerce website would generally need a shopping cart software installed. Ashop Commerce is an example of a software which gives your website the ecommerce software gurantees 99.98% uptime and back-ups on a daily basis. This ensures the continuous productivity of your online shop.

Second, do a marketing for your online store. Tell your friends and plan how you could drive people to visit your site. The more visitors you have, the more chances that you will get profit. You can turn your online presence to profit.

The success of the online store primarily depends on how you manage your shop. Like in real world, you need to do things as efficient as they could possibly be. The answer lies on what type of software you use for your shop. A little investment might turn up later as a big money maker.

Going to the bundoks of Calinan

Yesterday, we, together with my colleagues in Kalasag, went to Calinan District to attend Kuya Ayan's thanksgiving lunch for passing the November 2007 Electronics Engineering Licensure Examination of the PRC.

Calinan is just one of the few rural districts in Davao City. It's located at the northern part of city. It's about an hour ride from the metro. We took the bus in going to Kuya Ayan's place.

We arrived at our destination just in time for lunch. After having lunch, we went to the hills. It's a few minute walk from their house. The climb up the hill reminded me of our climb in one of the hills in Camiguin during our trip there last summer.

After climbing hills, we went back downtown since we were running out of time for an engagement we are attending.

We arrived downtown around 6p.m and we're already an hour late for our 5p.m. appointment, which is Nemia's debut.

I'll take making money seriously

I badly need money. Not for my daily needs, but for the coming months I guess. I was contemplating on how I will survive my first 6-months away from home study this coming April. I'm aware that being away from home brings a lot of financial struggles. It's better to expect something like that would happen to me while I'm having my review.

For a start, I registered to a few money earning communities in the web. First, I registered for the Dollar Pays. Dollar Pays pay you to sign up for programs, fill out survey forms and avail advertiser offers. I'm not earning from Dollar pay yet so I can't assure a good income from this program.

Another program I applied was Bux.to. It's an advertising company. They pay their users to view the websites of the advertisers for 30s. The user earns $0.01 for every 30s view of a site. It's not bad especially if you are a frequent internet surfer.

I also activated or rather checked my TLA account. My account was approved few months ago but I never used it. This time, I'll take making money seriously. I'm not receiving any links from TLA yet but I'm still waiting.

My BTP was scheduled for another pay tomorrow. So this would be my first pay after I decided to take this matter seriously. I also managed to register for a Paypal account. So if you are interested in sending money, you may do so. Just leave me a message here and I'll give you my e-mail address for my paypal account. *wink* *wink*

*** Update: I didn't notice my title. Lol. wrong wrong wrong. (I'll taking take making money seriously)

I'm taking Bio Med this semester

Electronics and Communications Engineering is one of the few courses in the Engineering Division which offers Elective Subjects in the last three semesters of the 5-year course. The last year's elective was Biomedical Engineering. Everyone thought that the subject will turn out right, yet, none of the students who took the course felt its importance or significance to the career we were trying to pursue.

Biomedical engineering, in the engineering's point of view, is the field of engineering which specializes in the design and development of systems, gadgets, tools and other equipments which can be of great help in the medical field, whether for research or for treatment. Good examples of these medical applications designed by us 'engineers' are the tools being used in Miami plastic surgery.

Last semester, before taking the subject, we tried to evaluate things. Our class have considered this as a very delicate subject. A subject which needs a lot of knowledge in Biology and Medicine. The only background that all of us had in these fields is the Biology subject that we had when we were in our second year in high school, which we thought is not enough. Another thing we tried to take into consideration are the equipments necessary in the research and development of devices and systems we are going to design for this field. The school has no single equipment for the medical field which can be used by ECEs in their designs.

After further evaluation, the class decided to made a petition to change the subject of our Elective course. But the petition was rejected. Now we have to suffer yet another "not-so-useful" subject in our college life.

Working at night, taking the shots

I'm not referring to liquor shots. Not the ones sold in San Diego entertainment clubs.

Last night, I was out with some of my colleagues for a photo shoot. The subject of our photo shoot is Urban at night. All the shots were taken in the streets. We went from the streets around Marco Polo to the landmarks in San Pedro. We were also able to take some shots from the construction site of the soon to rise condominium near the SM mall. The last shoot we made was at the Airport Road in Buhangin.

It's such an ironic thing to see that a busy metro at day would be a deserted city at night. The usual noisy streets is deafening in silence. But a different beauty arises in the dark. The lights give a tranquil environment to the city.

Street children, even at night, were still playing in the streets. The little gamblers doesn't seem to feel tired of what they were doing. I wondered if the kids have a home awaiting for them.

That photo shoot was a tough job. We started 8 p.m and ended up at 2 in the morning. That was the reason why I started my day at one this afternoon.

I might be posting some of my shots later. Photography is really fun.

Finding a new car at San Diego

I might be one of those college kids who dreamed of having their own car. Considering my daily allowance and the cost, having a car is not a possibility.

Good news for those who live in San Diego though, San Diego Toyota Dealers are selling used cars for those who are tight in budget like me. They have the widest selection of Toyota cars. This is the best way one can grab that pre-owned car purchase plan.

I just hope the cars sold here are as cheap as the one sold in San Diego.

Teens can make money too

A lot of people are now engaged in monetizing their blogs. Who would not bite the deal? You are earning while doing your hobby.

A couple of months ago, I enrolled in this pay per post program. They pay is not that much but it's decent though. The advertiser sends us link assignments once or twice a month. So far, BatangYagit.com has already received its second link assignment since the time this blog was enrolled in that program.

The difficult part of sponsored posts is the idea that the author should strictly follow the anchor texts of the links assigned to be posted, regardless if it's grammatically right or not. I have encountered several instances wherein there is a strong urge in me to change the anchor text because it does not sound right. But if I change the text, I won't get paid for that.

Another difficulty which I encountered is the relevance of the anchor texts to the niche of my blog. Some of you might have noticed in my previous posts on how I mentioned plastic surgeries, cosmetic surgeries and rhinoplasty in Los Angeles CA. The posts are somewhat irrelevant to the anchor texts but it takes talent for someone to integrate that anchor texts in the post.

This is just one way on how to monetize your blogs. There are a lot of sites out there which offer advice, techniques and guides on how to make money online. My friend Kirby from Cagayan de Oro even made a specialized blog on how teens make money. His goal is to earn a million (pesos) through his blog. You can check his blog for some guides.

There is an infinite number of ways on how a teen like Batang Yagit can earn money through his blog. It's a matter of perseverance, patience and hardwork. Pro's are already earning thousands of bucks from blogging. I can also do the same. Unlike in the non-virtual world wherein there's a distinction of social class which might push you up or pull you down in the "Food Chain". The virtual world (internet) is a free world. A batang yagit today might become the most successful online money maker someday.

Another fastfood abroad

Yet another fastfood chain that I've been to in Borneo. This shot was from a Jollibee branch in Gadong, Brunei. I mentioned before that the foods being sold in this Jollibee branch are very expensive, relative to those sold in the Philippines.

If you might be thinking that only Filipinos come to eat in this fast food, well you are wrong. Most of the people that were at the restaurant when I came are Brunei people. (It's awkward to say Bruneian or Bruneese or Brunian. Hehehe.. I don't know which term to address people from Brunei is more appropriate.) Some of the crews are Filipinos, even the manager too.

Some Jollibee restaurants here in Davao offer free wifi access. So i tried my luck on searching for a free hotspot. I noticed most of the available wifi hotspots near the area was similar to that of Globe's globeWiz. Since I'm not interested in paying for my internet, I decided not to push my luck further.

If the food's taste is in question, there's not much difference as to what we have here in the Philippines. Unlike with KFC who remade their chicken recipe to suit their market, Jollibee maintained the original Pinoy taste of their menu.

Notice that the cola (that's how Malays call Coca-Cola) has a different cup. They don't use the plastic cup, instead, they use paper cups. The price, as usual, is more expensive.

By the way, if you have time, please check our friends from Houston nose surgery who sponsored this post.

My First meal in Malaysia

This is my first meal in Malaysia.
It's a chicken meal in of the KFC Branches in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia.
The rice is weird. I'm not sure if they serve plain rice in these fast foods.
The chicken meal is served with coleslaw as its side dish.

Lattice Lacing on my Denim Chucks

Last Sunday, I searched from google the keywords "How to tie a shoe lace". Pretty noob right? Hehehe.

The first site in google's list is Ian's Shoelace Site. I was able to look into several samples posted in his site. The site also offers several tutorials on how to tie your shoe lace.

I was looking for some cool way to tie the lace of my shoes. I ended up with his tutorial on Lattice Lacing. The tutorial is very easy to follow. Illustrations are also available. I didn't even read the instructions. The illustrations are clear and easy enough to be understood.

Aside from the tutorials, his site also features a gallery of different shoes tied in different ways. The samples varies from different brands, styles, and colors. You can also combine different lacing techniques.

Noob it may seem but the results are very cool. I'll try another variation next time.

May rusty at faded design yung harap.

Batang Yagit now part of The Usual Suspects

It was on November 8 that I had a conversation with Kuya Andrew, Ate Ria and Kuya Blogie when Kuya Andrew invited me to join the The Usual Suspects. It was unexpected. The invitation was casual. Few moments later, all I knew was I'm already receiving thread discussions from the TUS Mailing List. Whew! I was also invited for my first meeting with them at the Basti's Brew in Victoria Plaza.

The day after that, Ate Ria texted me and informed me that she already made my intro post (A Batang Yagit Conquers the Internet!) in the TUS Blog. Hehehe.

Another figure from TUS made a review/feature (Blog for professionals' exam results) for one of my sites. Kuya Blogie featured Jehz and Batang Yagit in his Ang Dabawenyo blog. He discussed how we came up with our PRC Board Exam Results website. He's now also part of our team.

At dahil dine-in, stainless steel spoon and fork ang gagamitin.

What? Hindi ba hinugasan 'to? Hindi ba nila inayos ang paghugas nito?

Nagmadali akong bumaba para humingi ng plastic spoon and fork. I leaned over the counter to catch the crew's attention at pinansin naman nila ako. Sabi ko, "Can I have a plastic pair of spoon and fork?".

Binigyan niya ako ng new pair of plastic spoon and fork.

Sa pangyayaring ito, I swear, I won't eat at Jollibee Bajada anymore.

On spamming and how to control it

My friend Jehz was fired up with lots of spam comments in his blog. Just a while ago, my friend posted his own article on How to stop Blogspot Spammers?.

The solution he suggested was to TURN ON the Comment Moderation feature of Blogger. Yeah, this one is helpful but there is one more better solution he missed. Blogger is equiped with a Word Verification feature for comment postings. This gives added security in preventing spam messages from coming in.

I would also like to congratulate him for migrating from the old blogger to blogger 2. His blog looks better than it was before. :P

Peace Jehz.

I ranked 3rd for the October Pinoy Blog of the Month

I was lucky to even rank 3rd in Karlo's Pinoy Blog of the Month. Few weeks ago, I made a campaign for this contest. A few responded and pledged their support for Batang Yagit. I am thankful to these people and to those who voted for Batang Yagit.

Why 3rd?

The judging was based on the following criteria.

  • Blog Content - 50% (Is it enjoyable to read? Does it entertain? Is it informative? Is the content valuable?)
  • Design 25% - (Is it good to the eyes? Is it easy to navigate? Is it user friendly?)
  • Reader-Author Interaction - 20% (Are there any interactions between readers and authors? Is there reader participation on the comments page? Remember, a reader-author relationship is important in making a blog grow!)
  • Pinoy Factor - 5% (How well does the blog portray its pinoy image? Is it Pinoy enough to be considered a Pinoy Blog?)
The total score from these criteria comprise 60% of the total score. I got 48.53% of the 60%. Not bad though. I was thinking that I got low on the Reader-Author Interaction. I seldom post replies on the comments from my readers. I apologize for that.

Congratulations to the other winners of the contest.

Batang Yagit conquers Brunei

Is this street named after the brother of Julia Roberts? Maybe not.

This is just one of the few street names that can be found in Brunei. Jalan is a Malay word which means street in the English language.

During my short stay in Negara Brunei Darrusalam, I learned a few things about the country. Brunei was once under the British Protectorate. It's a small but powerful country. The population of Brunei won't even reach a million.

Unlike in Manila, Brunei has an organized road and traffic system. I'm impressed on how disciplined the drivers in Brunei are. Similar to other Asian countries, Brunei's vehicles employ a right hand drive system. I was having some difficulty in crossing streets 'coz I get confused on which part of the road to look first. Hehehehe.

Stuffs in Brunei are expensive. While I was exploring their mall, my hand was doing the conversion. The prices in Brunei are almost twice as that of in Malaysia.

I'm supposed to go back to Brunei this Saturday but I opted not to. I feel to tired and I don't want to spend some dollars for another Brunei trip

After the summit, what's next?

I've been away from home for a couple of days now. A day after the summit, I left home. Huhuhuhu... now I'm a lonely vagabond. Toink!

It's my second time to leave the country. Exciting! Hahahha. When I arrive in Manila, I had to wait for Jehzeel kasi nasa kanya ang ticket ko for Clark. After waiting for Jehz, we both went to Mall of Asia to have our breakfast. An hour of eating and chit-chats. Pinapa-inggit ko siya of stories from the previous day's event, MBS1. He also gave me half the sheet of Google stickers Ate Aileen gave him.

After we had our breakfast, he accompanied me to the terminal for the bus that would bring me to Clark. It's my first time to travel in Luzon using public transport. I've been to places outside Manila but this time, it is completely different. I am very grateful to the two ladies I met in the bus. They were so nice to accompany me on our way to Clark. They're bound for Singapore kaya I felt a little confident since we're headed for the same airport.

The Airport

I had to wait for few more hours because the plane that would bring me to my destination arrived late.

I arrived 9 in the evening in my destination. Everything here is great.

That's all for now. I'll update you with my trip soon.

More of my trips can be found at Batang Lakwatsero.

Too much traffic on my new domain

A couple of days ago, Jehzeel and I launched PRC Board Exam Results. It's a web archive intended to provide recent results board exam results published by the Professional Regulation Commission. Since then, we've been doing serious campaigns and SEOs for the site.

Yesterday, the PRC released the LET August 2007 results. My english teacher friend woke me early in the morning just to announce that the results are already released. I immediately jumped to my computer to make posts.

An hour after I made my posts, the website experienced problems. Some users receive an Internal Server Error message. Sometimes, the wordpress loses its connection to the MySQL Server. We were able to fix the problem when we divided the results into several pages. It reduced the server's load.

When I checked the traffic in the evening, the site statistics showed that my site received 20,000 page views on that day. Wow. That's the highest traffic I received for a single day statistic.

SELaplana, another site which posts board exam results, even crashed because of the huge traffic.
